Why Teaching Piano is Important
Saturday, August 26th, 2006Your job as a teacher of music is more important today than ever before. Scientists have shown that training in piano helps develop the right side of the brain, the side of logic and math. This makes sense as piano is one of the few things that requires the fingers of the left hand to move independently over a variety of keys. At the same time school budgets are tightening so less music in general is given in many schools, especially in the younger grades; the early development stage of any individual. This is also the time in a child’s life when the training is most important.
